He was predeceased by: his parents, Louise Helmer and Alfonse Helmer; his wife Barbara Helmer; and his siblings, Paul, Peter, Barbara and Louise.
He is survived by: his siblings, Ruth, Steven and Gerry; and his goddaughter Victoria. He is also survived by 20 nieces and nephews, including his youngest niece.
