He was predeceased by: his father William "Skip" Barnett; his brothers, Timothy and Steven Barnett; and his stepfather Gordon Haslam. He is survived by: his mother Bernardine Heath Haslam; his wife Lynn Barnett; his granddaughter Melissa Hardwick (Cris); his children, Jake (Aiden), RJ, Christian, Jovani, Isaiah, Yesenia and Daniel (Ana); his stepchildren, Angel, Anniella, William (Stephanie), Leah, Pavin, Gregory and Hannah; and his sisters, Julie, Pamela (Steve) and Jaci (Lisa).

Charitable donations can be made to the Jim Bashaw Memorial & Catastrophic Illness Fund, c/o Northwestern Medical Center, Community Relations Office, 133 Fairfield Street, St. Albans, Vermont 05478 in Ricks honor.
