She was predeceased by: her parents, Louis Demar and Shirley Demar (Bates); her daughter Melissa Lee Lowell; and her sister Barbara Long. She is survived by: her husband David Chagnon; her children, Debra Anne Bovat (Chris Comstock) of Sheldon, VT and Christopher James Chagnon (Mel Fenton) of Grand Isle, VT; and her siblings, Emma Wagner (Donald Sweet) of Swanton, VT, Bonnie Messier (Michael) of Franklin, VT and Donald Demar (Lisa) of Fairfax, VT.. She is also survived by ten grandchildren; three great-grandchildren.
As an alternative to flowers, memorials may be made in her name to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
