He was predeceased by: his parents, Theodore Costes and Anna Costes (Pappas); his former wives, Elizabeth Hayes Costes and Mary Hungerford Fyles Costes; his son Theodore G. Costes; his brother John T. Costes; his stepdaughter Jennifer H. Fyles; his sister Olga Costes Campbell; and his brothers-in-law, Mark Hayes, Michael Hayes, Richard Hungerford and Merrill Hungerford.
He is survived by: his stepmother Sophia Costes (Angelides); his wife Diane of St. Albans; his son Christopher M. Costes; his close friends, Laurie of St. Albans and Annette of St. Albans; his stepson Peter Fyles (Barbara) of South Burlington, VT.; his grandchildren, Max, Sam, Rachel, Sophia Costes, Jocelyn, Bronwyn and Peter Potthoff; and his parents-in-law, Philip, Theresa Remillard, Lynn, Ellsworth Moore and Darlene Burke. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
