Moira F. Flanagan Obituary
We are sad to announce that on September 27, 2022, at the age of 101, Moira F. Flanagan (Rutland, Vermont) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Madeline Fagan (Valiquette) and Henry F. Fagan; her husband Richard J. Flanagan (Dick); her daughter Monica F. Merchand; her son-in-law Jay Margolis, Jr.; and her siblings, Sheila F. Stanley, Roderick Fagan and Richard Fagan.
She is survived by: her sister Martha F. Terkla of Arizona; her children, Brian (Helen) of Massachusetts, Kathleen (Ozro Childs) of California, Maureen Prencipe (Nicholas) of Texas, Julie Margolis of West Virginia and Elaine (Jeff Carr) of Vermont; her son-in-law Joseph Merchand of New York; and her grandchildren, Seana Flanagan, Erica Keil (Doug), Molly Coburn (Dave), Sarah Malloy (Darren), Elizabeth Bowe (Jim), Caitlin Childs, Matthew Prencipe (Cymberlee), Jim Margolis (Katie Oram), Kelly Dagger (Jacob), David Margolis, Jessica Margolis (Dan Nguyen), Dan Merchand (Angie), Leah Moakley (Patrick), Jayananda Carr, Kirtan Carr (Daniela), Jon Carr and Tarini Carr (Kishore Kumar). She is also survived by 21 great-grandchildren; many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and friends.
Many of her former students became Facebook friends, and Moira enjoyed hearing from them as she celebrated her Covid-restricted 100th and 101st birthdays.
Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, may be made to Christ the King Church, Mount St. Joseph Academy, and VNA & Hospice of the Southwest Region.
