With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Geraldine Ann Hamel of Rutland, Vermont, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. Geraldine Ann left this world on April 4, 2024 at the age of 93, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Julius A. Ghio and Bernice Ghio Sr. (Barton); and her husband Donald C. Hamel. She is survived by: her children, Deborah J. Hamel of Rutland, John O. Hamel (Joan) of Swanton, Michael A. Hamel (Wendy McCullogh) of Center Rutland and David A. Hamel (Kate) of Sanford, ME; her grandsons, Sean, Dylan, Cody, Jack and Elias Hamel; and her siblings, G. Joyce Mainolfi, Carl Ghio, Alfred B. Ghio and Julius A. "Jules" Ghio Jr.. She is also survived by 6 Great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
She was a longtime volunteer with RSVP as a foster grandparent in the Rutland Intermediate School where she was affectionately called Grammy Dena.
