He was predeceased by: his sisters, Claudia and Joan; and his stepmother Joyce Tarbell. He is survived by: his siblings, Cyrus Tarbell of Pawlet, Claude (Phyllis Tarbell) of Pawlet and Betty Ann (Gerald White) of Ferrisburgh; and his stepsiblings, Walter Miller, Lyman Dean, Wilma O'Neil, Beverly Keeler and Connie Bullock. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
