It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Catherine Houghton Smith of Reading, Vermont, born in Saint Albans, Vermont, who passed away on June 24, 2022, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Houghton and Mary Houghton (Baumgardner); and her brother Ralph. She is survived by: her husband Gardner H. Smith; her children, Jody Hickey (Chad) of Cut Bank, MT and Matthew Smith (Sheri); her grandchildren, Taylor, Rose of Reading, VT and Thomas 'Woody' Smith (Jennifer); her great grandchildren, Noah, April Rose, Molly Jo and Stella Mae of Lincoln, CA; and her siblings, Robert Houghton (Lynn) of North Wilksboro, NC and Dorothy Kosicki (John) of Charlotte, NC. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and friends.
