He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas A. O'Connell and Hazel O'Connell (Rand); his son Douglas O'Connell; and his siblings, Kathleen Perry (Robert), Dorothy Chase, James O'Connell and John O'Connell.
He is survived by: his wife Carol O'Connell of Randolph; his son Richard "Tom" O'Connell of Randolph Center; his sisters, Marjorie Chase of Randolph Center and Lillian LaValley (Daniel) of Randolph; and his brother-in-law Francis Chase of Randolph Center. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews; 6 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren.
