He was predeceased by: his parents, Dwight Townsend and Doris Waldo; his stepmother Thelga Townsend; and his brother Larry Townsend. He is survived by: his wife Barbara; his brothers, David Townsend of Bethel, Rudy Townsend (Brenda) of Williamstown and Dwight "Gary" Townsend of Nashua, NH; and his nephew David Dumas. He is also survived by many other nieces and nephews.
