She was predeceased by: her sons, John Sr. and James Merritt Sr.; and her brothers, Clayton LaCount Sr. and Stanley LaCount Sr.. She is survived by: her parents, Lucen LaCount and Helen LaCount (Fitzgerald); her spouse Howard W. Merritt; and her children, Howard Merritt Jr. of Proctorsville, Thomas Merritt of Chester, Rory Merritt of West Columbia and Patti Merritt Jennings of Andover. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and cousins.
