He was predeceased by: his parents, Laurence Lynds and Gladys Lynds (Sanderson); and his siblings, John, Arthur, Ray Lynds and Janetta Deveau.
He is survived by: his wife Katherine Woodward; his children, Joseph C. Lynds and Elizabeth Lynds; and his brother Glenn Lynds. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
