He was predeceased by: his parents, Kenneth Schafer and Beatrice Hammond Schafer; his son Jeffrey; and also Barbara. He is survived by: his children, Jon Schafer of Phelps and Liz Schafer of Pawlet, VT..
Visitation was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Cheney Funeral Home (70 Main St, Phelps, NY 14532). A funeral service was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Friday, December 20th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at the Oaklawn Cemetery.
