He was predeceased by: his father Edward Reed; his stepmother Betty; his mother Pauline DeCoteau; and his sister Joan Wilson. He is survived by: his former wife Dawn Dutille; his wife Dawn Reed of Quechee, VT; his children, Patrick Reed (Becca) of Norwich, VT and Penny Berry (James) of South Carolina; his grandchildren, Maddie, Connor, Ryan, Bridget, Xander and Ellie; and his siblings, Tony LaBarre of Japan, Nancy Corette of Rhode Island, Sandy Morrin of Newport, NH and Debbie Wetzel of Rhode Island. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
