He was predeceased by: his parents, Gordon Columbia and Cecile Columbia (Boisvert); and his parents-in-law, Frederick and Ruth Carter. He is survived by: his wife Sandra Carter of North Troy, VT; his sons, Eric Columbia (Tanya Martin) of Albany, VT, Bradley Columbia (Teri Prue) of Newport Center, VT, Brock Columbia (Sara Wright) of Coventry, VT and Travis Columbia of North Troy, VT.; his brother Robert Columbia of North Troy, VT.; and his close friends, Gary, Adalene Lantagne of Newport Center, VT, Sharon Flangan of Eden, VT and Joann Allen of Barre, VT.. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren.
