He was predeceased by: his parents, Augustus Putnam and Susanne Putnam. He is survived by: his wife Janine; his siblings, Katharine Bennett, Sarah Putnam, David Putnam, Barbara Putnam, Elisabeth Schmitz, Catherine Bise and Susannah Amiteye; and also, Lindsey, Andrew, Ian, Caleb and John.

The family would welcome donations to the Pomfret Fast Squad in John's memory.
