He was predeceased by: his parents, Ceylon Orvis and Gladys Orvis (Olmstead); his son Joseph D. Orvis Jr.; and his grandson Evan Orvis. He is survived by: his children, Laurie Orvis of Benson and Jerry Orvis of North Clarendon; his caregiver Vida Orvis of North Clarendon; his grandsons, Joseph D. Orvis III of Rutland, Kyle Hendee (Crissa Brooks) of Benson and Douglas Hendee of Benson; and his great grandchildren, Carly Hendee and Cooper Hendee. He is also survived by several siblings, nieces and nephews.
