He was predeceased by: his parents, Ida Poirier and Henry Poirier; and his grandfather Joe Lewis. He is survived by: his wife Viola Poirier (Wright); his child Gail Fournier (Poirier) of Copake; his son-in-law Donald Fournier; his grandchildren, Ashley Jo Kristjansson (Fournier) and Michael Fournier; his former spouse Fridrik Kristjansson; his granddaughter-in-law Melissa Fournier (Jennings); and also, Kaitlyn Fournier, Ellie Jo Kristjansson, Rylie Fournier and Kyle Arieta.
Visitation was held on Friday, March 7th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Curtis Britch Funeral Home (4670 Darling Hill Rd, Newport, VT 05855). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, March 8th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Theresa's Catholic Church (44 East St, Orleans, VT 05860). The military honors will be held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Theresa's Cemetery.
