He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Louis J. Essaff and Gertrude LaPlante; his former wife Judy Flynn; his children, Timothy Essaff (Doris) of Derby Line and Sherrie Essaff Rediker (Paul) of Ogden, Quebec.; his wife Linda Hale; his brother-in-law John Sanville; his grandchildren, Joshua Rediker, Hannah Rediker Dostie (Shane) and April Plante (Grady); his great grandchildren, Emma, Ava, Owen Dostie, Jackson, Landon and Theo Plante; his siblings, Joann (Jack Anderson), Roland Essaff (Emily), Diane Essaff, David Essaff (Ellen), Carol Sanville and Michael Essaff; his stepchildren, Robert McGregor (Tracey) and Tennille McGregor Gonyon (Andrew); his stepgrandchildren, Haven McGregor, Noah Purviance, Justin, Carter and Cameron McGregor; and his grandson Josh. He was also cherished by extended family members, and many, many friends.
Over the years, he ministered at most of the region's nursing homes and participated in prison ministry in the state of Vermont until the pandemic.
