She was predeceased by: her parents, Walter Tiedeman and Lena Bishop Tiedeman; her daughter Debra Ann Carter; her brothers, Clyde and Herbert Tiedeman; and her cousin Charlotte Rivard.

She is survived by: her husband Robert N. Carter of Newport; her daughter Becky Carter Jacobs; her son-in-law Dennis Jacobs; her grandson Tanner Jacobs (Rachel Lucas); her siblings-in-law, Louis Carter, Iona Carter (Wayne) and Sally Austin; and her cousins, Mary Gardner of Burlington and Lillian Bessette of Arizona. She is also survived by many cousins, nephews and nieces on both sides of her family.
