He was predeceased by: his parent Leo Sr; his former wife Mary Brosnan; and his siblings, Richard, Paul and Rosalie Avery.
He is survived by: his parent Arlene Bernard, Sr. (Drew); his wife Evelyn Bernard (Baraw); his children, Patricia Fales (Robert) of East Falmouth, Mass and Leo John Bernard of Newport; and his sisters, Mary Anne Bernard-DeRosa and Darlene Mendes of Walden. He is also survived by many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
