He was predeceased by: his wife Marlene Jones; his parents, Olive E. Spaulding (Spaulding) and Hugh H. Allen; his siblings, Phil, Harold Blake, Manley Allen, Ramona Van Gilder (Earl), Kay Ryan (Leonard), Reta Whitaker (Willis), Norma Massey (Edward) and Charlene Mossey (Steven); and his siblings-in-law, Steve Baker, Lloyd, Rodney Jones, Dexter Morse, Roger Burns, Lee Barrows and Marilyn Cobb.
He is survived by: his children, Gene Jr. (Donna) of Maine, Amanda Barrett (Bruce) of Hyde Park and Aaron (Audrey) of Morrisville; his grandchildren, Jennifer (Barb), Jessica Blake, Adam and Austin Barrett; his great grandchild Caitlyn Mayo; his sisters, Fonda Whittemore (Dean) and Mary Baker; his siblings-in-law, Hugh Jones (Gloria), Audrey Barrows, Donna Morse, Jackie Burns, Ginny and Linda Jones; and his close friend Darlene Manning. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
