He was predeceased by: his parents, Karl Herdling and Dorthea Herdling (Maher). He is survived by: his sons, Scott R. Herdling (Penny Inglee) of Proctor and Robert K. Herdling (Ashley Julian) of Montpelier; his grandchildren, Catherine Yakunovich, Camrynn Herdling-Julian, Kynnzlee Herdling-Julian, Robert Herdling, Cheyenne Herdling, Makayla Walters Herdling and Abby Latour; his great grandchildren, Alana and Mila Yakunovich; his sisters, Jean Sparks of Winsted, CT and Beverly Anderson of Torrington, CT; and his former wife Virginia "Ginny" Clinton of Torrington, CT.. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
