Richard Walton Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard Walton of Montpelier, Vermont, who passed away on February 1, 2025, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Stanley T. Walton and Lurella Belle Linker; his former wife Sienna P. Walton; his mother-in-law Betty Phinney; and his sister Joan Miller (Walton).
He is survived by: his wife Kate Gavin of Montpelier, VT; his daughter Polly Walton Yerkes (Jamie Yerkes); his grandchildren, Ruby Lurella, Alexander and Lila Sienna of Kirby, VT; his stepson Dan Goetz (Kasha) of St. Augustine, FL.; his brother-in-law Dick Miller of Middletown, CT; his niece Carol Buzby (Dave Buzby) of Middlebury, VT; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Lauren, Eric and Lucy; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Blaise, EmmaLia and Eliza; his nephew Eric Miller (Juliet Stumpf) of Portland, OR; his great-nieces and great-nephews, Liam and Zander; his sister Jean Lange (Walton) of Annapolis, MD; his nieces, Joan Pfinsgraff (Marty), Sue Gunst (Gary) and Priscilla Summers (Nick); his nephew Fred Lange (Tracey); his brother-in-law Dennis Collins (Susie) of Norfolk, NE.; and also Jean Mariner (Paul Mariner) of Albuquerque, NM.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Notch House (5768 VT-5A, Barton, VT 05822).
