She was predeceased by: her parents, Alejandro Canas (Alex) and Dolores Canas (Alzaga); her husband Fernando Gomez; her son Peter Gomez; her siblings, Emilio Canas and Ines Canas Powell; and her sister-in-law Lena Augustoni Canas.

She is survived by: her close friend Lena Augustoni; her daughter Susan Gomez Cohen (Robert); her cousin Irene Alzaga; her nephews, Richard and Brian Powell; her stepsons, Bryan Cohen (Kathryn) and Evan Cohen (Kelsie); her great-nieces and great-nephews, Tara Powell Grenier (Craige), Walter Aguilar of Texas, Rick Powell (Brittany) and Rachel Ornitz; her stepgrandchildren, Jack, William and Quinn Cohen; and also Bradley Grenier.
