He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Robert Genest and Lena Genest (Shattie); his children, Montpelier and Sub Shop; his wife Rosalie Gonyo; his children, Joe, Jr. (Lori) of Monkton, Erik of St. George, Tamara Walker (Tom) of Bristol and Jodi Snelling (Randy) of Vergennes; his sisters, Sandra LaBonte of Florida and Victoria Gonyea of Florida; his sisters-in-law, Pearl Whitehouse of Burlington and Ruth Shelley of Florida; his grandchildren, Amanda, Thomas, Nicole, Joseph III, Kahlie, Jayden, Christopher, Matthew and Justin; his brothers, Robert, Jr. and James; and his caregiver Renee. He was also cherished by Many nieces, nephews and cousins.
