John Gillis Obituary
We are sad to announce that on November 19, 2018, at the age of 83, John Gillis (Montpelier, Vermont) passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Duncan Gillis and Elizabeth Agnes "Aggie" Gillis; his brothers, Anthony and Richard; his brothers-in-law, William MacDougall, Johnny MacClellan and Frank Garletts; and his cousin Best Man.
He is survived by: his wife Thelma Clark Gillis; his children, MaryJo Lamell, Irene Cook, David (Kathy) and John (Jennifer); his grandchildren, John (Emina), James, Veronica Cook, Gina Chiodo-Cook (Mathieu), David Vilbrin, Katherine Lamell, Elizabeth, Emily, Samantha and Connor; his stepgrandchildren, Bethany Munn (James), Brandy Prindall (Nathanial), Bradley (Alissa), Barry, Brent Lamell (Lexi), Berniece Smedley (Donny), Joel (Kimya), Keith and Trevor Knecht; his siblings, Jessie MacDougall, Anne Marie MacAdam (James), Peggy Hurley (George), Michael (Mary), Veronica and Rita MacClellan; and his sisters-in-law, Sylvia Garletts, Donelda and Muriel. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is now in a better place, free from the binds of this world that were over taking his life with the final stages of Alzheimer's disease.
