Ciampi, 79, died Saturday, Aug. 18, 2018, at Central Vermont Medical Center in Berlin. She was born Feb. 20, 1939, in Northfield, the daughter of Maurice and Eula (Berno) Dupere. She graduated in 1958 from Northfield High School. Mrs. Ciampi worked 20 years at a Vernon, Connecticut, medical facility as a medical receptionist and secretary. In Vermont, she was employed at Central Vermont Medical Center in medical records for an additional 20 years. She married Aldo Ciampi in West Topsham Sept. 17, 1987. He predeceased her Nov. 13, 2009. She enjoyed quilt making, baking, cooking, knitting, cross stitch, playing bingo, as well as attending quilt shows, vacations in Maine and wintering in Florida. Survivors include three children, Kimberly Pedley, of Northfield, Michelle Rock, of Glens Falls, New York, and Michael Mercadante, of Essex; three siblings, Roger Dupere, Sally O'Donahoe, both of Northfield, and Janice Kanales, of Sandwich, Massachusetts; four grandchildren; many stepchildren, nieces and nephews. Per her wishes, there are no calling hours. The graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, in Green Mount Cemetery in Montpelier. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Heaton Woods Activity Fund, 10 Heaton St., Montpelier, VT 05602; or Central Vermont Humane Society, P.O. Box 687, Montpelier, VT 05601.
