He was predeceased by: his parents, Maurice P. Mears and Martha B. Mears (Thompson); his wife Doris Mears; his sons, Thomas and Gary Mears; his son-in-law Christopher Coleman; and his brothers, Earl Mears and Henry "Bud" Mears.
He is survived by: his in-laws, Wayne, Norma Lafayette, John and Elsie Sumner; his children, Martha Coleman of Milton, VT, Philip Mears (Diane Mears) of Milton, VT and Steven Mears (Deborah Mears) of Somersworth, NH; and his grandchildren, Judy Ellis, Caroline Coleman, Charlotte Coleman, Asa Mears, Dorothy Mears, Josiah Mears and Katherine Mears. He is also survived by 3 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren, along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A reception was held on Friday, January 3rd 2025 at 11:00 AM at the United Church of Milton (51 Main St, Milton, VT 05468).
