He is survived by : his friend England; his children, Elizabeth of Portland, Maine and Samuel IV; his pet Brittany Spaniels; his wife Victoria Silsby (Bucknall); his mother Frances L. Silsby of Gorham, Maine; and his sisters, Carolyn A. Silsby (Stanley W. Piecuch) of Camden, Joanna S. Wallingford (Mark) of Auburn and Nancy S. Owens (Scott) of Gorham. He is also survived by his mother, sisters, nieces and nephews.
