It is with great sadness that we announce the death of James Merrill Shook (Manchester, Vermont), born in Amsterdam, New York, who passed away on December 20, 2017, at the age of 68, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He is survived by : his parents, Merrill Rockwell Shook and Janet Shook; and his sister Patricia Shook Misiuk (Jozef Misiuk) of Lakeland.

The Search and Rescue volunteer organization in Siglufjordur, North Iceland, will receive a much-needed donation for rescue equipment for their willingness to scatter Jim's ashes at the summit of Mt. Holshyrna.
