He was predeceased by: his son David A. Mitchell; and his siblings, Jackson Mitchell, Sr. (Della), Beverly Lawson (Ed), Barbara Chamberlain (Sid), Hazen Mitchell (Flossy) and Richard Mitchell (Francine).
He is survived by: his parents, Walter Mitchell and Catherine Mitchell (Webster); his brother Jack; his wife Catherine Mitchell (Cappy); his sons, Dale Mitchell, Sr., Dennis "Dan" Mitchell, Sr. (Michelle Hagman), Dwight "Ike" Mitchell, Sr. and Douglas Mitchell; his grandchildren, Amy Mitchell, Jennifer Adams (Kurt), Ann Ruggles (George Jr.), Dennis Mitchell, Jr. (Paula Aliano), Dale Mitchell, Lisa Mitchell, Dawn Mitchell, Meghan Mitchell, Dwight Mitchell, Jr. and Dana Mitchell; his great grandchildren, Kyle, Jordan, Nikko, Landon, Sonoma, David, Will, Lydia and Jake; his pet Chip; and his siblings, Leslie Mitchell (June), Carroll Mitchell, Sr. (Brenda), Valerie Carreau, Rose Ramsdell and Jen Mitchell. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
