He was predeceased by: his brother Roger Cauthren. He is survived by: his significant other Jill Y. Vivian; his children, E. Denise Matthews (Bob) of Newark, DE, Bonnie J. Shiffner (Bob) of Ocean City, MD and Glenn E. Cauthren (Terri) of Lake Lure, NC.; his grandchildren, Kimberly Huerta-Matthews (Manny), Robert Shiffner III (Allie), Luke Shiffner (Casey), Elizabeth Goins (Andy), Felicia D'Ascanio, Tonya D'Ascanio and Jessie Cauthren; and his siblings, Evelyn Cummings, Philip Cauthren, Ava Bishop, Joan Gough and Vicky Le Fevre. He is also survived by twelve great grandchildren.
