He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Stearns and Ruth Stearns (Sweet); his wife Betty Carolyn Main; his son Craig; and his siblings, Everett and Frances.
He is survived by: his children, Brian Stearns (Sarah), Charles Stearns (Christine) and Laurie Pavlovich (Greg); his sisters, Leone Lanphear and Dorene Bocock; and his sister-in-law Marilyn Stearns. He is also survived by six grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren.
