He is survived by: his wife Sandy; his daughters, Kelly (Brian Maenpaa) of San Francisco, CA and Sheri (Jason Julian); his grandchildren, Layla and Nina of Charlton, MA.; and his brother Paul Ellow, Jr. (Barbara) of Ormond Beach, Florida..

“Sandy, sorry for your loss. You and Stan were good friends of my late parents, Al and Barbara Schantz for many, many years. As for me, I have distinct memory of Stan from around in 1979. The two of you stopped by my parent's house for the day. Stan learned that I liked the guitar, and he showed me how to play chords by picking the strings as opposed to strumming. It became my favorite way to play ever since. May your memories of him give you comfort during this time and forever after.”
