He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter, Sr. Rodgers and Clara Eva Rodgers (Wilkinson); his wife Shirley Ann Brigham; and his granddaughter Sarah Jean Leach. He is survived by: his children, Edward Rodgers (Kelly) of St. Johnsbury, Patty Stetson (Jeffrey) of St. Johnsbury Center and Debra Jean Rodgers (Michael Robil); his sister Helen Morse of Essex Junction, VT; his sister-in-law Rose Hill (Tom); his grandchildren, Christen White (Jason), Kelly Lemieux (Justin) of St. Johnsbury, Jayme Rodgers of North Concord, VT, Jessica Chase (Ryan) of Concord, VT and Lizabeth Rodgers (Dean Switser) of Waterford; and his niece Janice Gillespie. He is also survived by several great-grandchildren.
