We Love You! " - Heather Disorda View Sign SUDBURY - James Leo Zutell, age 61, died Monday, Sept. 3, 2018, in Sudbury. Jim was born in Middlebury on Aug. 9, 1957. He was the son of Richard and Helen (Swick) Zutell. He grew up in Chittenden and received his early education at Barstow School. He graduated from Otter Valley Union High School, class of 1976. During his high school years, he was very active in soccer, baseball, and had played ice hockey with the RAHA Otters. In earlier work years, he was employed at Bill Ryan's Chevrolet in Brandon and later, at Alderman's. He had worked as the manager at Old Fox Chemical in Brandon for several years. Jim established Zutell's Auto-body in 1986. He was well-known for his talent as a body man and auto painter. He enjoyed auto restoration work. He was an avid golfer and loved fishing, especially deep-sea fishing in Rye, NH. He is survived by his wife, Janet (Griffin) Zutell, of Sudbury, whom he married in Sudbury on May 15, 1983; one daughter, Amy Rusin and her husband, Kirk, of Colorado Springs, CO, grandsons Kyler and Kaden Rusin; his father, Richard Zutell, of Hydeville; two brothers Richard Zutell Jr., of California, and Gary Klauder Of Kissimmee Florida and two sisters Carol Curtis, of Cincinnati, OH, and Nancy Kelly, of Stroudsburg, PA; sisters-in-law Karen Griffin and Jean Griffin, and brother-in-law Fred Koch, all of Kissimmee, FL. Several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins also survive him. He was predeceased by his mother in August 2018 and a sister, Kathy Zutell, in June 2018. The memorial service will be held on Saturday, Oct. 13, 2018, at 12 noon, at Brandon American Legion Post #55. An uncle, Eugene Zutell, will officiate. Following the ceremony, the family will receive friends in "A Celebration of His Life." A private graveside committal service and burial will take place at a later date in the family lot in Pine Hill Cemetery in Brandon. Memorial gifts, in lieu of flowers, may be made in his memory to Otter Valley Union High School, for sports programs; or to Center for Health & Learning, Vermont Suicide Prevention Center, 28 Vernon St., Suite 319, Brattleboro, VT 05301.
