He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert D. Bowers and Goldie Bowers (Dean); his children, Betsy Bowers and James Bowers, Jr.; and his sisters, Ethel Bowers, Julia Rockwood, Hilda Frye and Beulah Curtis.
He is survived by: his spouse Phyllis Farnsworth; his children, Linda Busch (Fred) of West Windsor, Herbert Bowers (Ines) of Farwell, MI and Eric Bowers (Pamela Hanan) of Hartland; and his sister Marlene Somerville of Portsmouth, NH. He is also survived by nine grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren, one great great granddaughter and many nieces and nephews.
