He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel T. Smith, Sr. and Sylvia Waterman Smith; and his brothers, Carl, Kenneth and Fred (Trudy).

He is survived by: his children, Debra, Cheryl, Dan and John; his grandchildren, Daneryl and Courtland; his great grandchildren, Caleb and Ryan; and his sister Betty. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Jack Byrne Center, 154 Hitchcock Loop Road, Lebanon, NH 03766.
