She was predeceased by: her parents, George M. and Mary D. Carpenter (Nault); her husband Tony Handy; her siblings, Bill Carpenter, Georgia Mae and Georgie; her nephews, Dennis Comeau, Tyler Keach and Joseph Carpenter; and her brother-in-law Mac Downing.
She is survived by: her children, Solomon "Sully" Handy (Kim) of California, Samuel "Sam" Handy (Megan) of California, Elisa Maurice (Rodney) of Barre, VT and Jennifer Bassett (Jack) of St. Johnsbury, VT; her siblings, Robert Carpenter (Diana), George Carpenter Jr. (Deborah), Maren Downing, Janice Hemond (Mike), Patricia Stetson (Doug) and Margaret "Peg" Keach (Dick); and her brother-in-law Gene Comeau. She is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; many, many nieces and nephews; and several godchildren.
