He was predeceased by: his parents, Nicolas Ide and Arme Ide (Martin); his former wife Elizabeth Ide (Spear); his son Philip Scott Ide; his sisters, Margaret Whitney and Sally Keller; and his sister-in-law Virginia Ide.

He is survived by: his wife Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Spear; his children, David Ide and Linda Ide (Brad Vietje); his daughter-in-law Susan Ide; his brothers, James Ide and Nicolas Ide (Jackie); his grandchildren, Philip Vietje (Phuong "Fiona" Vietje) and Clara Ide; and his great grandchildren, Chase and Colt Vietje. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
