He was predeceased by: his daughters, Phyllis Ranney and Czarina Ranney; and his siblings, Howard Ranney, Michael Ranney, Edna Burns, Eleanor Fowler and Janet Briggs.
He is survived by: his parents, George Ranney and Blanche Ranney (Kilburn); his spouse Neva Czarina Cook; his children, Carla Hornbeck of Castleton, Harold Ranney of South Hero and Howard Ranney of West Haven; and his sister Ethel Ranney of Fair Haven. He is also survived by six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren.
