He was predeceased by: his parents, John J. Shushereba Sr. and Phyllis C. Shushereba. He is survived by: his children, Kara Collier (Andrew) and John J. Shushereba III (Caley); his adoptive daughter Shanna Shushereba; his sister Debra Cafferty (Tom); and his grandchildren, Peyton, Hadley, Kinley, Remi Collier, Charley, Lucy Shushereba, Kali and Phillip Shushereba.
