With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Marie Anna Nielsen of East Charleston, Vermont, born in Brooklyn, New York, who passed away on October 13, 2022 at the age of 103. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Barbara Bechtel and George Bechtel; her former spouse Christian Harold Nielsen; her daughter Carolyn Cesare; her husband Richard Colburn, Jr.; her granddaughter Krista Hogge of East Charleston; her great grandchild Solanna Hogge; her grandson Mark Cesare (Jennifer) of Raleigh; her great grandchild Steven Mozhdehi (Stephanie); her daughters, Christiana and Angelina; her grandchildren, Nicolette and Matthew Cesare (Patsey) of Crystl; her great grandchildren, Clea and Nijah Cesare; her niece Barbara Turner; and also Roger Chappell.
She is survived by: her son-in-law Julius Cesare of Pawling; her daughter Diane Colburn of East Charleston; and her stepgrandchildren, Sarah Colburn (Damon Jones) of Northfield, VT, Jennifer, Tom Turgeon, David, Alma Colburn, Jamie and Jason Brochu.
Donations may be made to the Ladies Auxiliary of North Country Hospital, or Orleans-Essex VNA Hospice.
