Lois Lafreniere Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Lois Lafreniere of East Barre, Vermont, born in Northfield, Vermont, who passed away on December 7, 2022 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Ray Hayward and Lillian Hayward (Moody); her husband Roland R. Lafreniere of East Barre; her children, Leanne Sue and Joseph Robert; and her siblings, Roger, David Hayward, Joan Barsalou and Judee Hayward.

She is survived by: her daughter Lori; her son-in-law Paul Jean of Seneca, SC; and her grandchildren, Nicholas Jean of Belmont, NC and Brittany (Tyler Lacy) of Chicago, IL. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to Cottingham Hospice House, 390 Keowee School Rd.

“We were sorry to read of Lois' passing in today's Times-Argus, and so sorry for Lori and Paul's loss. She was a very special neighbor who we enjoyed walking with us in the Barre Town Forest during the summers before she moved to NC. Game for any trail, tough or easy, Lois was happy showing us the log cabin she and Roland built which we could see from the forest's Empire Lookout. She impressed us with her hard work in her garden behind her house in Wildersburg. We will miss her!”
