She was predeceased by: her parents, John Kirker and Luella Kirker (Sanborn); her grandparents, Addie and Arthur Sanborn; her parents-in-law, Laine and Eleanor Vance; her son Richard Melvin Vance; her granddaughter Carissa Ann Palmer; and her brother David Kirker.

She is survived by: her husband Richard "Dick" Vance of Danville; her children, Jeffrey Vance of Danville and Kelly Sinclair (J. P.) of North Danville; her grandchildren, Brianna Eleanor (Brandt), Garrett Laine, Jordan Paul Sinclair and Caity Alysse Palmer (Carrissa Collie); and her siblings, Sharon Daniel (Gary) of Danville, Charles Kirker of South Hero and Susan Kirker of Connecticut.
