He is survived by: his children, John Hayes, Patrick Hayes, Katherine Shibata (Cliff), Paula Hayes, Mark Hayes, Melinda Umezaki (Chiro) and Josh Hayes; his grandchildren, Tanya, Michael, Elizabeth, Tania, Alicia, Andrew, Kathleen, Tara, Natasha, Jonathan, Shana, Keyna and Jack; his great grandchildren, Anthony, Kylie, Ethan, Grace, Michael, Luke, David, Amelia, Sawyer, Leyla and Sophie; and his sister Jean Messier (Marcel). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests contributions to The Vermont Veterans Fund or the Mary Anne Hayes Scholarship Fund in Paul's memory honoring his dedication to service and education.
