He was predeceased by: his son Eric John Maitner; and his siblings, Robert Lee Maitner Sr. and Jeanne Mary Salvador (Maitner). He is survived by: his sons, Martin Thomas Maitner and Mark Steven Maitner; his wife Geraldine Maitner (Kuntz); his child-in-law Ying Hu; and his grandchildren, Aiden Husong Maitner, Jacqueline Elizabeth Maitner, Devin Long and Grace Long.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
