It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Robert J. Carpenter (Charlotte, Vermont), who passed away on January 6, 2019, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Roland Carpenter and Izetta Carpenter; his wife Elsa B. Carpenter; his siblings, Jean Carpenter Keller and Charles Carpenter; his children, Kathy Carpenter of Middlebury, James Carpenter and Susan Vigne; and his grandchildren, Elizabeth Cook, Hannah Rommer of Hanover, Catherine Vigne of Whiting and Emily Qian Vigne. He was also cherished by four great-grandchildren and many nephews and nieces.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Paul N. Carpenter '33 Scholarship Fund at Bates College (ATTN: Gift Processing, 2 Andrews Road, Lewiston ME 04240) or to the Lake Champlain Maritime Museum (4472 Basin Harbor Road, Vergennes, Vermont 05491).
