He was predeceased by: his parents, Victor Gardy and Mary Gardy; his son Michael; his granddaughter Julia Ruth Gardy; and his sister Rita Curtis.
He is survived by: his wife Loretta Posegay of Shelburne; his children, David Gardy (Carolyn) of Herndon, Dr. Lynn David (Vivek David) of Vienna, Dr. Marianne Passerelli (James Passerelli) of Hamden and Matthew Gardi (Lisa) of Key West; his grandchildren, Zachary David, Steven David, Jacob David of Vienna, Virginia, Maya Masters (Captain Nicholas Masters) of Temple, Sarah Gardy, Celeste Gardy of Herndon, Rachel Passerelli and Nicole Passerelli of Hamden; his great grandchild Oliver Masters; and his sisters, Anna Di Battista of Philadelphia and Florence Gardy of Harpursville.
